BUILD
Refuge Corridors
In history when nations and communities have undergone huge amounts of change and upheaval, centers of safety, learning, growth and peace have arisen. For example on the Asian and European continents amidst the collapse of various Kingdoms and Empires, monasteries and convents have served such purposes.
Looking at our rapidly changing world today, we are likewise witnessing an unraveling and the encroachment of similar growing upheaval. We acknowledge that our communities are quickly needing new centers and gathering places for some of us to find safety, to learn, to grow and to make peace; in spiritual terms, in material terms, in natural terms and in relational terms.
Concretely this looks like long term plans for purchasing, stewarding and managing centers where Solarpunk Christian members can meet, build and share tools, resources, food, knowledge and relationships with each other and their neighbors. Places where we grow gardens, generate renewable electricity, establish alternative systems for technological connection while splitting our time between playing and praying in the same spaces.
“Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?" -Proverbs 24:11-12
